Vulture with white tail

Very corpulent eagle and of big size, it has a massive silhouette characterized by a broad scale and a short tail in the shape of corner.
The whole of the plumage is brown dark except the head and the base of the neck slightly clearer. The legs and the nozzle are yellow.

Species related to the aquatic environments (maritime coasts, large rivers, lakes, etc.), either inside the grounds, or the edge of sea.

At the interior, the Sea eagle with white tail plait itself at the edge of the lakes and of the rivers favourable with the predation, in the tundra and the forest.
On the coasts, it attends escarped rock cliffs.

In Europe have note a strong population of sea eagles with white tail:
in Romania (in the delta of the Danube) in Norway, in Germany, in Poland.

Five years are necessary to reach sexual maturity.
The immature ones are wandering while the adults are sedentary.
Particularly discrete bird apart from the period of reproduction.

It has almost the same technique of hunting as the other fishing sea eagles or eagles, with the difference which it shows endurance and is able to continue its prey until exhaustion.

Its nest, particularly bulky, is built either at the top of a large tree or safe from an inaccessible cliff.
Each couple has some several which is used on several occasions and for one consequent period.
The female lays two eggs which hatch at the end of an incubation which lasts from 39 to 42 days. The small ones take their take-off within 8 to 9 weeks.

It takes especially waterfowl: geese, foulques, ducks etc. but it is especially fond of delicacies fish.
It does not scorn the corpses when times are hard and that the need is felt.

Even if the European population seems to start a light improvement, the population in the European Union does not exceed the 600 couples.

Hunting, poisonings, the pollution waters, the taking away of eggs and chicks as well as the destruction and the disappearance of the wetlands, are the principal dangers which threaten it.
