The Lynx of Carpates

The Hutsul

The name of the race of these horses comes from the name of the Hutsule population living the province from Bucovine and Galicie originating in Ukraine.
One of the most specific races of the horses of Carpates.
They are adapted perfectly to the natural conditions (on the current territory of Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine and Romania).
The horse “Hutsul” appeared with the XIII century per crossing of the horse “tarpan” and the “Mongolian” horse introduced by the migratory populations into the area of Bucovine, Galicie (Northern is of Romania).
Its natural habitat are Carpates of the east called “the country of Hutsules”.

There remained isolated from other equine populations, this race became very robust and resistant, accustomed A of the very hard climatic conditions.
