Mihai Bandac

Mihai Bandac was born the 5 October 1939 in the commune of Lucaceni, the department of Satu Pond. In 1964, graduate of the institute of Beaux-Arts "Nicolaë Grigorescu" of Bucharest, it becomes a member of the Union of the Artists Plastics technicians. Professor at the Institute of Theatre of Bucharest, where it gives courses of language plastic.

Its works are in the museums and the collections of Romania (Bucharest, Jassy, Cluj-Napoca, Constanta, Slobozia, Târgoviste, Sibiu, Mediae, Brasov, Târgu-Wall, Oradea, Baia-Pond, Borsa, Ploiesti, Sighisoara, Mangalia, Craiova) and from abroad (EUA, Russia, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands, Denmark, France, Canada, Bulgaria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Nepal, Spain, Israel, Finland, Germany.

The painting of Mihai Bandac is par excellence a painting which is made suggest by the intermediary of one moving metamorphosis by the colour and a language synthetic, having quality to maintain an alive dialogue with that which look at and which tests temptation to recognize in simplicity harmonious of the fabrics a universe of familiar objects exerting an attraction irresistible by the heat of the chromatic agreements.

Without any doubt at the origin of this heat there is the rich person interior landscape of the artist, who brings the harmony, lyricism, the exubérance of the nature of Maramures. Landscape Rumanian liberally offered to him subjects whose principal hero is this interior glare of the things in the perpetual change which is not given by the season, but by the intensity of the emotion in front of the spectacle of one eternal to become. In the series of fabrics entitled "the seasons", to which the artist has, these eleven last years, devoted all his energy; there is one character invisible but present: the human being conferring life on the universe.

Large variety of aspects of landscape of the fatherland, transfigured with force of evocative emotion, is constituted thus in emblematic images sometimes of a serious lyricism, sometimes of one tender softness or of the pathetic selected. The broad register that the painter establishes coordinates them stylistics of each fabric. A regenerating vital flow and untiring seems to circulate among the elements composing the images of its fabrics, putting in permanent agreement the sensitivity of the artist and his horizon of reference.

Such fabrics communicate sharp and sincere emotion; an invitation to be meditated on the forms which are become colours and whose artist who can discipline the effects makes us gift. The intensity with which they transmit to the glances the message of one sincere art in charge of emotion to the direct contact of reality confers on creation of Mihai Bandac its specific "personality" in the context of our contemporary painting concerned about investiguer of the broader zones of surrounding universe.
