Targu Neamt

The City located in the North-East of Romania, the Ozana Valley Topolita (known also under the name of the Valley of Neamt).

This Valley has a 28 km length and a variable width between 3 and 14 km east confines with the peaks "Culmea Plesului" and "Dealul Boistea".

- Targu Neamt is in the Neamt department, to 60 km of Suceava and 31km of Pascani.

- Population: 22 731 inhabitants.

History:

- the first documentary certificate is in an official paper dating reign of Petru I Musat, paper known under the name of "Listed rusa orase "(1387-1392). In same paper east evokes the City of Neamt.

- Neamt had its punch (emblem) in Latin.

The city of Neamt:

- Prince Petru I Musat started to make build a fortification reinforced on the place named "Culmea Plesu".

- the fort changed with time in a true strengthened city.

- During the reign of Etienne the Large one the city represents important extremely of defense vis-a-vis to the invasion of the Othomans; it is at that time that one the large bridge builds hones some with its 11 pillars.

- Destroyed partially at the time of Prince Alexandru Lapusneanu (1564-1568)

- During the reign of Prince Vasile Lupu, the city it becomes one monastery (1634-1653)

- Commercial rise decreases gradually because of the fires caused by invasions of the Poles, the Russians and the Othomans in XVI century;

- At the XIX century the local market is developed enough (known under the name of " iarmaroc ".
It is thanks to the writer Ion Creanga (1839-1889) born A Humulesti, the small one village become today suburbs of Targu Neamt, which is the large one traditional storyteller of the Rumanian literature that it is picturesque place is described in pages known for their humour impossible to circumvent.

Flora:

The town of Targu Neamt is its surroundings (Valea Nemtisorului)) are surrounded of abundant fôrets of beeches (Fagus silvatica), the charms (Carpenus) and of conifers (Pinus silvestris).

One also finds there the silver fir (Albies alba) and the Lime silver plated (Tilia tomentosa).

Fauna is abundant:

one finds hinds (Capreolus there capreolus), marten (Martes martes, Martes Foina), the fox, it rabbit, the bear ,le wild boar (Known scrofa) the squirrel (Scirus vulgaris), it falcon of the evening (Falco vespertinus), the thrush musician (Turdus philomelos), the green woodpecker (Picus canus)
