Bacau


The town of Bacau is the chief town of the county with 210.000 inhabitants; this one occupies a surface of 6.621 square kilometres (accounting for 2.8 % Rumanian territory) and a population of 745.000 inhabitants.

Geographical situation: located in the Eastern area of Romania, in the medium of Moldavia, on the slope Eastern of Carpates Western, the highest altitude is that of Grindasu to 1664 m.

River:

Principal ethnographic centers are: Brusturoasa (joinery, Tisserands), Casin (joinery, fabric, hemp, fabrics of wool), Oituz (wool hazel nut pottery and basket making), Salatruc (doors out of wooden cut out).
