Bucovina is located at North East of Romania between Maramures and Moldova, it is a landscape of hills and valleys, leaned with the arc carpatic. 

Bucovina is the cradle of an old civilization, or the history is tied with the legends.

It is re-elected thanks to its monasteries with the painted external frescos, by their reputation those included in the Universal Inheritance of UNESCO, in particular those of Voronet, Arbore, Humor, Moldovita, Sucevita, Putna and Dragomirna.

These treasures of architecture are within an exceptional natural framework between valleys and rivers Suceava and Moldova. 

The secular forests of the reserve of Slatioara and belong to most beautiful of Europe and of preserved best; they always shelter there wolves , bears and lynxes . 

The architecture of the houses is single and original; true wood embroideries decorate the doors, the edge of the windows, the roof of the wells and the fences.

The work of prince Dimitrie Cantemir “Descrierea Moldovei” (the description of Moldova) of 1716 refers to this area compared to the way of organizing the administrative life in the shape of a “republic” made up of about fifteen localities which had their own laws and judges.

The stages of self-determination are as follows:

On October 14, 1918 on the initiative of Sextil Puscariu the Assembled National one is convened in Cernauti.

This one autoproclame Assembled Constituent and decides the union of “all Bucovine” with the other Rumanian provinces which belonged to the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the formation of an independent national state.

In this moment is born to it the National Council representing Bucovine and the Executive committee under the direction from Iancu Flondor.

In the situation disturbs area, the National Council asks the support of the Rumanian army. This one dispatches a division on October 23, 1918 on the spot and informs the Austrian government.

On November 12 the National Council establishes the institutions of autonomy Bucovina.

On November 15, 1918 the Congers General of Bucovine votes the Union with Romania.

King Ferdinand of Romania signs the Decree law of December 18, 1918 per which Bucovine joined the Rumanian State reunified on December 1, 1918.
In 1920 the Rumanian State dissolved by decree regional leading institutions of Bucovine, Transylvania and Bessarabia.

During the autumn of the year 1920 took place the monetary unification, the Rumanian State withdraws circulation the lei emitted by German, the Austrian crowns and the rubles.

Until our days the south of Bucovine belongs to the Rumanian State.

The art of the seam, the embroidery, is perpetuated by the clothes industry of the traditional clothes of festival, which are encrusted with small colored pearls and skins of marten.

For the Rumanian people it became a symbol for a long time. The beauty of the site, the harmony of the seven hills on which it is built engage us like many others before us to compare the position of the city with that of Rome. 

It is enough to think that it is here that one follows the traces of Etienne the Great one - Stefan Cel Mare , of Michel the Brave man, Alexandru Ion Cuza, of Kogalniceanu,

that one crosses the threshold of the houses or lived Eminescu , Creanga , Sadoveanu, that with each step one finds the memory of Asachi. 

Thanks to its very whole population, the city Moldova always was in the heart of the Romania history, in the heart of the combat delivered for the assertion of the national existence. The city became, of the kind a cradle of the history of Romania.
